Chandricka Watkins

Velma Jackson/Basketball

•By the numbers: Watkins, a 5-8 senior wing, totaled 58 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds in wins over Madison St. Joseph, Madison Central and Canton to win the Madison County Tournament.

•Coach-speak: "She's a great leader and very smart on the court," said Tamieka Brown. "She can jump out of the gym."

•The 411: Watkins has led the Lady Falcons to a 9-0 start, averaging 16.4 points, 4.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds.

•Born: Jan. 29, 1994, in Jackson

•Favorite athlete: LeBron James

•Career goal: She hopes to be a physical therapist.

•High expectations: Watkins has been playing for Velma Jackson since her freshman year, but said this is the best team with a goal of going undefeated. "We have six seniors who have been playing together since middle school," she said.

Erika Sisk

Oxford/Basketball

•By the numbers: Sisk, a 5-7 senior point guard, totaled 73 points, 24 assists and 21 steals in wins over Ashland, Tupelo and fifth-ranked South Jones.

•Coach-speak: "She continues to play great team ball and because of that the team is successful and she is successful as an individual," said Shayne Linzy. "She has great vision on the court and knows when to pass the ball and when to take the shot."

•The 411: Sisk leads the 8-0 Lady Chargers with averages of 23.6 points, 6.9 steals and 5.8 assists.

•Born: Feb. 13, 1994, in Oxford

•Favorite athlete: Kobe Bryant

•Toughest opponent: Tiaria Griffin (Hattiesburg)

•TV show: 48 Hours

•College: Sisk has signed to play at Murray State and plans to major in sports medicine.

•Coliseum bound?: Oxford has failed to reach the state tournament in Sisk's previous three years on the team, but she feels this will be the year.
