Memphis High School Basketball Top Performers for Dec. 15

Lyric Cole, White Station: One of the Spartans' talented freshmen, Cole scored a career-high 33 as her team moved to 9-2 with a 60-37 victory over Raleigh-Egypt. Brittni Moore added 12 as White Station outscored the Pharaohs by 20 in the second half.

Kristina Ferris, St. Benedict: Ferris led four players in double-figures, scoring 15 in a 56-14 victory over Germantown. Lily Gleneck added 13 and Deja Pryor and Catalina Carrasco scored 10 each.

Lauren Gross, Northpoint: The game of the night was at Tipton-Rosemark as the Trojans rallied late to hand the Rebels their first loss of the season, 45-43. Gross came up with some big baskets down the stretch and late Northpoint (8-0) with 25 while Amara McKay scored 11 and grabbed 11 rebounds. Briana Hall led TRA (8-1) with 18.

Sade Hudson, Trezevant: The Bears' senior leader scored 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out four assists in her team's 66-14 victory over Kingsbury. She received plenty of help from Quinterria Foster (17 points, five assists) and Richara Cooper (15 points, seven rebounds).

Lizzie Rhea, Fayette Academy: The freshman scored 23 to lead the Vikings to a 60-57 victory over Lewisburg. Megan McClure contributed 13.

Makayla Summerall, Harding: Summerall scored 15 as the Lions (4-3) took control in the first half and defeated region rival St. George's 58-24. Sage Hawley added 13 while Adi Thrasher's 12 led the Gryphons.

Lauren Taylor, Collierville: Taylor put 20 on the board as the Dragons improved to 5-3 with a 50-28 victory over Center Hill.

Darry'l White, Hamilton: White scored 16 and handed out five assists to lead the Wildcats to a 55-30 win over Wooddale. Kierra Wilkins added 12 while Danyell McAdams grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

Caitlyn Wilson, Arlington: Wilson scored 21 to lead the Tigers to an impressive 73-65 victory over Central. Nya Stewart chipped in with 16 for the winners while Arkansas State signee Jireh Washington (22) and Johne' Stewart (20) led the Lady Warriors.

Taylor Woodhouse, Southaven: Woodhouse scored 22 and the Chargers are 9-3 following a 75-52 victory over Catholic.

Kira Lowery, Commercial Appeal Player of the Week

Kira Lowery, Southwind: Lowery turned in three great all-around games for the Jaguars, starting with 26 points, nine assists and six steals in a win over Craigmont. She then had 21, eight and seven against Mitchell before totaling 21, three and six against Briarcrest.

Memphis High School Basketball Top Performers for Dec. 12

Annaliese Burnett, MHEA: Burnett scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Eagles picked a great night to end their shooting slump, defeating Central 72-44. Lindsey Vaughn added 21 and Kylie Loadholt 17 for the defending home school national champions who are now 10-3.

Zareia Ector, Catholic: The Chargers are off to a 7-1 start following a 70-30 win against Overton in which Ector scored 17. Carria Smith added 15, Lytia Flowers 14 and Deyon Gipson 10.

Jayla Hemingway, Houston: Despite sitting out the entire fourth quarter, Houston's star had 24 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals and four assists in a xx-xx victory over Mitchell.

Hope Howlett, Macon Road Baptist: Howlett had 19 as Macon Road picked up a 70-35 victory over Central Baptist. Isabella Everett had 18 and Janinna Barber 17 while Callie Hogan scored a game-high 22 in defeat.

Sade Hudson, Trezevant: The Tennessee-Martin signee scored 28 as the Bears took control early and defeated 58-24 in District 16-AAA. Trezevant is now 3-2.

Chancey Jackson, Oakhaven: Jackson scored 22 points and had four assists as the Hawks improved to 7-0 with an 81-20 victory over W.E.B. DuBois LP&P. Jayla Webb added 12 points, Alista Williams 11 and Kierra King 10. Jackson had 19 points and four steals in Monday's 62-9 victory over Hillcrest.

Tremesha Rogers, BTW: Rogers scored 23 to lead the Warriors to a 77-50 over Douglass.

Jada Taylor and Lauren Taylor, Collierville: The Dragons' 69-9 victory over Millington was, well, Taylor-made as each scored 15.

Shmya Ward, Whitehaven: Ward poured in 29 points as Whitehaven improved to 6-2 with a 62-36 victory over Kirby. Alexis Acoff led the Cougars with 21.

Diamond Wray, Kingsbury: Wray scored 13 and Angela Couch 12 as the Falcons kept Sheffield winless, 47-37. Cabria Thomas had 17 for the Knights.

Memphis High School Basketball Top Performers for Dec. 5

Jordan Allen, Tipton-Rosemark: Allen, a freshman, scored 19 points and grabbed 10 boards to lead three players in double figures in a 56-24 victory over ECS. Abby West chipped in with 12 while Megan Sanfratello added 11 as TRA improved to 6-0.

Se'Quoia Allmond, Whitehaven: One of the top freshmen in the state, Allmond scored 15 points and handed out 10 assists as the Tigers rolled past Collierville, 63-42. She also had four steals while racking up her sixth double-double this year. Vertonia Bady scored 16 to lead the Tigers, now 5-1.

Kerrigan Braxton, Hutchison: Braxton led a balanced attack with 11 as the Sting (5-2) took control in the first half and defeated Wooddale, 56-19.

Tashun Bryson, Mitchell: This week's Commercial Appeal player of the week led the Tigers with 19 in a 63-29 victory over MLK Prep. Miata Borders added 16, Markeisha Hayes 13 and Karissa Hamlett 11 for Mitchell, which has won seven in a row.

Jacaila Davis and Sage Hawley, Harding: Davis and Hawley each scored 10 as the Lions defeated St. Benedict, 44-33. Freshman Deja Pryor had a game-high 17 for the Eagles.

Claire Fleming, Lewisburg: Fleming scored 32 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Patriots ran their record to 8-1 with a 69-49 victory over Strayhorn.

Sade Hudson, Trezevant: Hudson, headed to Tennessee-Martin, outscored the opposition by herself as she dropped 26 on Melrose in a 56-22 victory. She also added 13 rebounds and six steals and got plenty of help from Quinterria Foster, who had 11 points, six steals and three assists.

Antonika "Tweet" Jones, Douglass: After scoring 52 in a game last week, Jones stayed hot with 25 as the Red Devils edged Manassas, 50-49.

Diona Reed, Briarcrest: Another promising freshman in town is the 6-4 Reed, who scored 24 to lead the Saints to a 57-37 victory over Kirby. Savanna Owens added 15 for the winners.

Tremesha Rogers, BTW: Rogers knocked down six 3-pointers en route to a 27-point night as the Lady Warriors downed MAHS, 65-45. Derrenisha Jackson had 20 while Chrusia Wilks added 12.

Kamequa Rucker, Memphis Business Academy: One of the top returning scorers from last year, Rucker led four players in double-digits with 24 in a 65-26 victory over Middle College. Sister Anayah Rucker added 12, Rikiyah Curtis had 15 and Kiaya Weaver 12.

Jireh Washington, Central: The senior — who signed with Arkansas State during the early period — scored 27 as the Lady Warriors turned back Brownsville Haywood, 74-58. University of Memphis signee Jamirah Shutes had a game-high 27 in defeat.

Jade Wells, Northpoint: The senior poured in a career-high 39 points as the Trojans — minus three graduated starters from their back-to-back state title teams — improved to 6-0 with a 74-27 victory over Millington. Michaela Brown added 11 points and six steals.

Lanetta Williams, Arlington: The highly-regarded 6-3 junior dominated inside as the Tigers knocked off White Station, 75-64. She finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Tashun Bryson, Commercial Appeal Player of the Week

Tashun Bryson, Mitchell: There are plenty of talented ninth and tenth-graders in the area this year and Bryson deserves mention among the best. She scored 20 points (11 of 12 from the free-throw line) and grabbed 11 rebounds against Trezevant, before adding 16 and 11 against Overton. Bryson then had 15 points, 14 boards and six blocks against GRAD Academy to help fuel Mitchell's six-game winning streak.
