Candace Rucker scores 16 in debut

Candace Rucker scored 16 points off the bench in her debut for Southern Mississippi.

Will challenge for a starting position ... Southwest Tennessee CC: Averaged 20 points, 7.1 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.9 steals per game at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, Tenn. ... Ranked No. 10 in the nation in scoring ... Named National Junior College Athletic Association First Team All-American ... Played for Coach Andrea Martre ... Led the TJCCAA in scoring and steals ... Named to the All-TJCCAA and All-Western Division teams ... Led her team in field goal percentage and free throw percentage ... Recorded eight double-doubles ... Scored a season-high 32 points ... Prior to coming to Southwest Tennessee CC, she played one season at the University of Colorado, playing in 30 games and starting three contests. She averaged 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds ...
