Arlington girls edge Craigmont in 14-AAA semifinal

Arlington sophomore Christyn Hopper converted a free throw with 11 seconds left to preserve a heart-thumping 49-47 victory over the Lady Chiefs.

“This game was a hard-fought battle,” said Offerle. “Both teams wanted it badly. It was a rough, pressure-filled game that could have gone either way. We showed some poise at the end that helped.”

With Arlington ahead 43-42, Hopper banked in a 3-pointer, sank a 12-footer and converted the all-important free throw. Craigmont’s Jemil Jefferson heaved a half-court shot at the buzzer that fell short.
