Alternate Route to Basketball Scholarship

Players hear it all the time -- and parents do, too.

"You've got to get exposure if you want a college scholarship."


"You have to play the summer circuit or no one will know about you."


"If you don't play in the big tournaments, you'll never get a full ride."


That may be true for some players but certainly not all, as Natasha Howard proves.

The Waite (Waite, Ohio) senior is ranked the No. 2 player in the nation by ESPN Hoopgurlz -- and committed to Florida State -- despite having never played a minute of club basketball once she entered high school.
