According to Ole Miss Athletics website, LaKendra graduated in May of 2006 from Ridgeway High School, where she was coached for three years by Lisa Moore and for one year by Tonya Currie ... during her four-year career with the Roadrunners, tallied 2,222 points, 1,355 rebounds, 242 steals and 184 assists while shooting a steady 75.5 percent from the free throw line ... named 2006 Class AAA Tennessee Miss Basketball, presented by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), helping Ridgeway to a 35-3 record and the state quarterfinals ... finalist for the 2006 McDonald’s All-American game ... listed as the ‘Class AAA Best of the Preps’ in 2005 and 2006 by the Memphis Commercial Appeal, which also named her its 2006 Girls Basketball Best of the Preps Player of the Year ... 2006 TSWA AAA State first team ... 2006 TSSAA District 15 AAA Player of the Year, All District and All-Regionals MVP ... 2006 Commercial Appeal Player of the Year ... 2005 TSSAA Jamboree Outstanding Player ... 2006 Nike River Street Classic All-Tournament team and MVP in 2005 ... named to the 2005 Class AAA Women’s All-State Basketball First Team, in addition to recognition on the 2004-2005 Best of the Preps /All-Metro Class AAA girls basketball team ... a 2004 Associated Press All-State prep basketball girls honorable mention team and named to the 2003-04 Class AAA Team as a sophomore ... played AAU ball under Ross Jordan for the Tennessee Tigers Select, where the team was five-time state champions and placed seventh nationally ... member of the AAU 12 and Under national championship team ... also an accomplished performer on the track, where she helped the Roadrunners to the 2006 TSSAA AAA Track & Field State Championships, which collected the team crown in 2003 ... captured the 2006 MIAA City Championship AAA titles in the 400m relay and 800m relay teams and placed second in the 100m and 200 meter dash events.
