After sitting out last season due to transferring from Southeastern Louisiana, Erica Burgess (Central) has come into this season on fire.
The Murray State women's basketball team opened the 2011-12 season with a 76-61 win over Evansville at the CFSB Center. The win marked the third-straight season that the Racers (1-0) have been victorious in their first game of the year and the second-straight to do so at home.
MSU was led by red-shirt sophomore Erica Burgess. In her first game with the Racers, Burgess tallied a team-best 18 points and nine assists, while shooting .500 (7-of-14) from the floor.
