Junior center Sarah Watkins (Houston) hit a 3-pointer with 16 seconds left to give Arkansas a 55-52 win over Florida State (No. 13 ESPN/USA Today, No. 14 AP) in the Women's Basketball Invitational Tipoff on Sunday.
Watkins led the Razorbacks (2-1) with 15 points and nine rebounds. C'eira Ricketts had 13 points and Lindsay Harris added 10.
Chasity Clayton scored 15 points for FSU (2-1) and Cierra Bravard added 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor. But the Seminoles lost the battle of the boards, getting outrebounded 44-26 by the Razorbacks.
There were six lead changes and three times when the score was tied in the second half.
Bravard made a layup with 43 seconds left to tie the game at 52.
The Seminoles had a possession after Watkins' 3-pointer. Tay'ler Mingo had a shot knocked away. FSU retained possession, but Mingo's inbound pass was picked off by Arkansas' Calli Berna as time expired.
