Lauren Douglas scored 18 points and made a big block down the stretch to help the Briarcrest girls defeat Nashville Ensworth, 44-37, in the semifinals of the BlueCross state basketball championship today at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena.
The victory puts Briacrest (24-5) in Saturday's championship game against Chattanooga Girls Preparatory School. GPS eliminated St. Benedict ealier in the day.
The Lady Saints will be seeking their fifth state title and first since 2004.
