On Saturday, February 9th, I kicked off my girls basketball training sessions. It felt good to get back in the gym.
It felt good because teaching the fundamentals is a passion of mine. I enjoy helping young ladies develop their skills. I enjoy watching the young ladies grow up.
I also enjoy helping players fulfill their dreams. Most players don't have a desire to play college basketball or even are aware that the possibility is there. Most just want to make their school team. If I can help a young lady accomplish that, I'm happy.
In the video below, you see me working with my 6 and 10 year old nieces on their shooting before my training started on Saturday. It broke my heart when my 10 year old niece told me the coach at her elementary school would not even let her try out. I know there are plenty of other stories of young ladies going home disappointed after not making the team or not even being allowed to try out.
I will be working with my niece over the next year to help her make the team. I will update you on her progress along with other players I'm working with.
