Mt. Pisgah wins Shelby County Middle School Championship




CONGRATULATIONS TO MT. PISGAH FOR WINNING THE SCS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP. 

THE LADY EAGLES TOOK ON THE RIVERDALE RAIDERS OUT OF THE SOUTH DISTRICT. THE EAGLES CAME OUT OF THE GATES RUNNING AND TOOK AN EARLY LEAD ENDING THE 1ST QUARTER UP 14 TO 5, AND THEY NEVER LOOKED BACK.  THEY ENDED THE GAME 43 TO 26. 

 LEADING THE WAY WAS 8TH GRADER DAMIAH GRIFFIN WITH ANOTHER DOUBLE, DOUBLE DOMINATING THE BOARDS AND SCORING 15 POINTS.  8TH GRADER NAKIA GRANDBERRY WAS RIGHT BEHIND HER WITH 14, 7TH GRADERS TRINITY FARMER PUT UP 6, AND KARLYNN WOODS PUT UP 4.  8TH GRADER SHAYLA MIDDLETON CONTRIBUTED WITH 3 AND 8TH GRADER CAYLA COX HAD A BASKET. 



 A SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS TO 8TH GRADERS SHAYLA MIDDLE TON AND  DAMIAH GRIFFIN AND 7TH GRADER KARLYNN WOODS WHO WERE ALL NAMED TO THE COUNTY ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM AND 8TH GRADER NAKIA GRANBERRY WHO WAS NAMED THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER OF THE COUNTY TOURNAMENT. 

 LAST NIGHT, THE LADY EAGLES SECURED THE NUMBER ONE SEED AND A 1ST ROUND BYE IN THE STATE SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT, WHICH BEGINS SATURDAY AT KATE BOND MIDDLE.  

THE LADY EAGLES WILL PLAY MONDAY AT 7:30. THEY TAKE ON THE WINNER OF SATURDAY’S MATCH-UP, KATE BOND, THE 2 SEED OUT AREA 1 AND BRIGHTON, THE 2 SEED OUT OF AREA 4.
