Starkitsha "Star" Luellen, a former Southwest Tennessee Community College women's basketball standout, is taking her nickname -- and her strong inside game -- to the University of Memphis.
Southwest Tennessee coach Andrea Martre said Luellen, who played high school basketball at Melrose, will sign scholarship papers to spend the next two seasons at the U of M.
Luellen, a University of Arkansas signee a year ago, became the second player with a Memphis-area prep background to join the program in the past two weeks. Mary Jackson, a former high-scoring Oakhaven High star, transferred to the U of M from Louisville last week.
