Here is the schedule of games -- along with a closer look at the
out-of-town teams participating -- for the Lynx MLK Classic. Lausanne
will play host to the event, which takes place Saturday.
Noon: Briacrest girls vs. Chattanooga Hamilton Heights
Freshman point guard Jazmine Massengill leads the way for Hamilton Heights, which brings a 14-5 record into the Classic. Others to watch include Elizabeth Balogun, Victoria Monyei and Amber Hunt.
1:30 p.m.: Germantown girls vs. Lausanne
3 p.m.: Tupelo vs. Briarcrest
Senior guard Antonio Green is averaging 18.7 points per game for Tupelo, which is off to a 14-3 start. He'll team with Tre Jenkins to form a potent backcourt that will challenge the Saints.
4:30 p.m. White Station vs. Chattanooga Hamilton Heights
University of Memphis fans will want to check out Hamilton Heights star Abdulhakim Ado, a 6-10, 230-pound junior who has offers from the Tigers, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Arizona State and Auburn among others. He's ranked as the No. 23 prospect overall in the class of 2016 according to ESPN.
6 p.m.: Velma Jackson (Miss.) vs. Mitchell
Velma Jackson has won the last two Mississippi 3A championships and is loaded once again. Mississippi State signee Quinndary Weatherspoon leads the way, while Moses Greenwood, point guard Kendarius Smith and Weatherspoon's brother Nikolas are all very talented too.
