Memphis Women's Basketball Adds Nashville's Brianna Porter

University School of Nashville (USN) senior Brianna Porter will venture west for her college basketball career, having signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Memphis women’s basketball team. Porter, who averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game last season for USN, helped her team to a 27-5 record and a Division II quarterfinals appearance last season.

“Brianna Porter is a mobile 6’3” in-state signee that will increase our depth at the post,” Head Coach Melissa McFerrin said. “Her ability to score inside, hit the mid-range jumper, rebound and run the floor gives us a versatility required in our system. She works incredibly hard on the court and is eager to continue her development at Memphis.”

A 6-3 left-handed post player, Porter is the daughter of Donald and Bessie Jackson.

Porter is McFerrin’s first signee out of the middle Tennessee area and is the Tigers’ first signee for the 2015-16 season.
