Memphis Mooriah Rowser Named to American Weekly Honor Roll
Sophomore guard Mooriah Rowser was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll, Monday.
Rowser led Memphis in scoring in a pair of wins over the weekend, including a 21-point outing in the season-opening win against Missouri State. She added 18 points in the win over Samford, Sunday and for the week, averaged 19.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
The two wins marked the first time since the 2011-12 season that Memphis has won back-to-back games to open the season. That two-game winning streak was snapped in a road loss at Illinois, 62-54.
Rowser and her Tiger teammates will play their first road game of the season, Thursday, when the team travels to Champaign, Illinois, to face Big 10 foe Illinois, at 7 p.m.
Rowser was joined on the weekly honor roll by Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (Connecticut), Courtney Williams (USF), DeVaughn Gray (East Carolina) and Feyonda Fitzgerald (Temple). UCF’s Zykira Lewis was named the league’s Player of the Week and Tulane’s Kolby Morgan was named the Freshman of the Week.
