Check out BrandonClayScouting.com's recently released prospect evaluation on Kaylan Pugh.
Kaylan Pugh of Collierville, Tenn., is a dynamic guard option capable of putting the ball in the bucket. She chose Ohio State this fall giving coach Kevin McGuff another talented option in the backcourt. Here is what Buckeye fans can expect from Pugh starting in 2015-16:
Kaylan Pugh – St. Mary’s Episcopal (Collierville, Tenn.) – 2015
Height: 5’9”
Position: Shooting Guard
Club Team: Tennessee Flight
ProspectsNation.com Grade: 4 star plus
Committed College: Ohio State
7/31/14 – Nike Nationals (North Augusta, S.C.) – Brandon Clay
Pugh had a great summer as the primary wing scorer on a premier Flight club team. In that regard, she is as good as any five scoring guards that I saw all summer. Her speciality is attacking the lane off of the bounce. Though she hasn’t shown herself to be a dead eye shooter, she is capable of hitting one if left wide open.
4/21/13 – Boo Williams (Hampton, Va) – Keil Moore
Pugh is a scorer first and foremost. She is a good not great athlete but her size and offensive skill allow her to be quite the offensive talent. She scored 44 in a game here at Boo Williams.
7/13/12 – Real Deal in the ‘Ville (Franklin, Tenn.) – Brandon Clay
She is good athlete at the guard spot. Her outside shot is a bit inconsistent but she gets to the rim well. She is a strong frame and likes to play with the basketball in her hands.
7/13/11 – Battle in the Boro (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) – Brandon Clay
Pugh showed herself as a legitimate wing player with a still developing skill set. In this eval, she showed a nice touch around the rim with great body control. Pugh likes to split the defense and finishes consistently. She’s great in the open floor and even showed some shooting to range to 3. From the wing, she is a rebounder and ball handler.
