The 2011-12 season is under way in almost every state, although No. 1 Nazareth had to reschedule its season-opening throw down with perennial New York power, Christ The King (Middle Village). The top five teams held their spots, but the top 10 wasn't void of change. Bolingbrook jumped up two spots to sixth by taking down two ranked opponents, Riverdale and Twinsburg, at the Turkey Jamm in Memphis, Tenn. Expect the Red Raiders to hold solid with just two games between now and their fourth straight trip to the Nike Tournament of Champions.
The Lone Star State has the earliest start, and No. 8 MacArthur has more W's than any other team in the FAB 50, with 14 wins against zero losses. The Cardinals get a little break, with only two games the next two weeks before they, too, head to Chandler, Ariz., and the TOC.
The action in Texas doesn't stop there. Two Texas teams dropped out of the FAB 50 -- Clear Springs (7-2) and DeSoto (7-3) -- but the state nets a gain of one with the addition of No. 28 Carroll (12-0) and No. 39 Plano West (13-1) joining Lincoln (6-0), which moves up to No. 47.
In the Southeast, McEachern, at No. 9, is off to a hot start. After starting the season by knocking off Norcross 55-43, the Indians notched two more quality wins over Overton (Memphis) and nationally ranked Memphis Central at the Turkey Jamm.
Two more teams cracked the FAB 50 this week. Geneva (Ill.) improved to 5-0, including quality wins over Morgan Park (Ill.) and preseason No. 42 Montini Catholic (Lombard, Ill). Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Calif.) has yet to play a game, but the preseason bubble team makes the Week 1 cut.
