images from Blue Star Media

Blue Star Media's Mark Lewis wrote about several Memphis-Area players in his Tennessee Turkey Jamm recap:

Endya Buford – 2020 – 5-6 – Guard – Olive Branch – Ballhandling and passing are already strong…Lots of speed with the ball in her hands…First step…Passing off penetration is instinctive…Lots of awareness…Young with lots of promise

Madison Griggs – 2019 – 5-8 – Guard – Houston – Nice ballhandling and passing…Can create off the dribble…Change of speed serves her well…Passing in transition is strong…Pull up is there…Has both touch and range…Lean build but still an active defender

Jayla Hemingway – 2019 – 5-10 – Guard – Houston – Athletic and strong guard…Plays with a low center of gravity…Solid base on the catch…First step is quick…Goes both directions but must finish better left…Awareness and passing are in place…Active without the ball…Works to be an option…Good on the glass from the perimeter

Zaire Hicks – 2017 – 5-7 – Point Guard – White Station – Tennessee-Martin signee…Small, strong and quick at the point…Penetrates and handles the contact well…Has plenty of speed with the ball…Sets up her attack with multiple fakes…Acceleration is there on the catch…Goes both ways…Nice stroke both from the perimeter and off the pull up

Brittni Moore – 2018 – 5-9 – Guard – White Station – Strong guard with lots of tools…Aggressive with and without the ball…Can slash to the rim…Works hard to be a factor…Pull up has promise…Perimeter is off the shoulder to a degree…Gets on the boards as a guard…Makes plays

Myah Taylor – 2017 – 5-8 – Point Guard – Olive Branch – Mississippi State signee…Strong ball skills allow her to improve both passing and shooting options…Pushes the ball at opportunity…First step is quick…Hesitation move draws defenders out of stance…Kicks it ahead in transition…Set up her passes with both fakes and her eyes…Pull up is there…Lots of effort on defense…Anticipates well in full court defensive scenarios

Mahogany Vaught – 2018 – 5-7 – Combo – Olive Branch – Wiry build…Penetrator…Shot fake is effective…Can get to the rim or utilize the pull up…Fluid in all of her movement…Weak hand??…Active defender
