Jerontay Clemons shines, but H. W. Byers prevails - again

Not even a show-stopping performance by Coldwater Dandy Dozen guard Jerontay Clemons could stop the H.W. Byers dynasty.

Byers won its second straight Class 1A state championship on Friday afternoon with a 74-69 victory over Coldwater at Mississippi Coliseum.

It was the fourth state title in five years for the school located near Holly Springs. The Lady Lions (29-4) won 2A state titles in 2008 and 2009.
